1.15 Chapter 48~ [Part 2]

''Ok..so where do you think this creepy little girl would be?'' Takeo asked while leaning against the wall.

I shrugged and looked around on the shelves. We had ran into a small drug store and I was on a hunt for pain killers. My head was killing me.

''Well jee Elena, that's real helpful….'' Takeo grumbled.

I stared at him. Today he seemed to be in a bad mood. We had spent the night in a small house last night and he and Dempsey got the floor, while I got the bed. I still found it amusing that they were kicking and hitting each other all night.

Dempsey walked in from the back room carrying a bow and arrow, ''Check this out!'' He exclaimed and aimed the arrow at the wall, ''It's got nice aim…''

I looked at the bow and arrow in surprise, ''You found that in the back?'' I asked.

''Yea, I think someone was here before us, there's a bed and some clothing back there, not to mention this was back there…'' He replied, holding up the bow.

''Do you even know how to use that?'' Takeo snorted, ''I don't want to you shooting me in the head with that thing…''

Dempsey glared at him and aimed the bow at him, ''You sure are grumpy today tak, why is that?''

Takeo straightened up and glared at him, ''Aim that thing at your feet Tank….''

Dempsey looked surprised and lowered the bow, ''You have never called me Tank, EVER, what's gotten into you Takeo?''

Takeo rolled his eyes and relaxed again, ''Nothings gotten into me, I'm just tired.''

I looked at Takeo in confusion. He had been struggling to sleep lately. It was beginning to worry both me and Dempsey, obviously.

Dempsey looked at me in concern and walked up to me, ''What do you think has gotten into him?'' He whispered.

''I don't know…but something's bothering him…'' I whispered back.

''You know, I'm right here, I can hear you, and I can assure you both, I'm perfectly fine…'' Takeo said staring at us.

I nodded and smiled slightly, ''Ok..good…'' I said and turned back to browsing the shelves.

I still didn't believe Takeo. Something was wrong with him and he was just trying to hide it.

''Found your pain killers yet?'' Dempsey asked.

I sighed and shook my head, ''Nope, you would think you'd find some in a drug store…most of these shelves are swiped clean though…'' I grumbled.

''How bad does your head hurt?'' Dempsey asked as he fiddled with the bow.

''It hurts a lot, I think Emily is messing with me again…'' I replied and looked at the bow, ''What do you plan on doing with that thing?''

Dempsey smiled slightly, ''I have a few ideas…like silent killing…doesn't sound make more zombies come?'' He pointed out.

I rolled my eyes, ''Well we haven't ran into a zombie in weeks now….'' I suddenly perked up, ''Wait, why haven't we seen a zombie lately?!''

''It's probably Richtofen..one of his stupid plans again…'' Takeo growled.

I just looked at him. What had gotten into him?

''Ok…then…'' Dempsey said giving Takeo a suspicious look.

I sighed, ''Alright, let's go…'' I said quietly and walked out of the store.

Dempsey nodded and followed, swinging the bow over his shoulder. Takeo groaned and followed Dempsey.

''Your actually taking that thing with you Dempsey?'' Takeo asked in surprise.

''Yes, yes I am, problem?'' Dempsey replied and laughed, ''Why, jealous much?''

Takeo fisted his hands, ''No I am not jealous!'' He growled.

''Whoa Takeo..it was just a joke…'' I said, trying to keep calm.

''Oh..heh…I knew that…'' Takeo said quietly and calmed down.

I turned and walked down the street. For days all we've been seeing is old stores and torn up houses. The weather had been acting strange, one day it would be scorching hot and the next it would be freezing cold. I was guessing it had something to do with the element, it was getting stronger. Today it was rather cold and a slight drizzle was falling from the dark clouds above.

''U-ugh..'' Dempsey complained while shivering.

''Come on..'' I said and led them into a dark house.

I looked around. The place was very dark and dust was floating around in the air.

''I can't see a thing…'' Takeo said quietly.

I was just about to respond in agreement when I heard the door we had came through slam shut. I stiffened, the place was so dark now that you couldn't see yor hand in front of you even if you tried.

Dempsey slowly grabbed his pistol and stepped closer to me, ''What was that…''

''I..d-don't know…'' Takeo replied in a slightly shaky voice.

I whimpered slightly and slightly took a step back, ''She's here…I can feel it…'' I whispered.

''Who's here Elena?'' Dempsey asked quietly.

''E-Emily…'' I stuttered.

I heard an air piercing scream, followed by footsteps. I whimpered and stiffened slightly.

''This girls insane…'' Takeo said.

''No kidding…'' Dempsey replied quietly, ''Elena..come here…''

I gulped and stepped closer to him as the footsteps came closer.

''Welcome to my home….'' I heard Emily's evil voice echo through the room.

''Your house doesn't seem very welcoming, I mean, we can't even see what's in front of us…'' Takeo spat back.

''Oh, oh, someone's being a bad boy today, bad boys aren't allowed here…'' Emily replied.

''E-Emily…w-what do you want?'' I stuttered. I felt utterly terrified of the little girl. I knew her power, she could easily put me in so much pain that it would kill me.

''You disappoint me Elena, I thought that you would have known by now…'' Emily growled.

I shivered and didn't respond. I didn't know what to think.

''Things would be a lot easier if you turned on the lights you little brat…'' Dempsey grumbled.

''Very well…Rikky, can you turn on the lights please?'' Emily said.

A moment passed and the lights shot on. I rubbed my eyes and tried to keep my eyes open against the sudden bright lights. Once my eyes had adjusted I was able to see around us. The room had gray walls and the floor was a simple white. Tables that were filled with bottles with a strange looking liquid leaned against the wall. There was a chair in the corner of the room that a lifeless body was strapped into. Richtofen was standing by the chair, holding up a syringe. Emily was sitting beside him, grinning at us.

''Well hello once again my friends…'' Richtofen said in a dark voice.

''Ugh..not you AGAIN!'' Dempsey yelled at him.

''Ohh..please use your inside voice Dempsey…'' Richtofen replied with a grin.

''What do you want from us?'' Takeo growled.

''Rikky doesn't want you guys, he only wants Elena…'' Emily said, standing up.

''I'd like to see you try…'' Dempsey growled and stepped slightly in front of me.

I took a step back, unsure of what to do. Maybe..maybe..no..that wasn't a good idea at all. Giving myself in to Richtofen would only bring me certain death, or would it?

Takeo leaned over and whispered in my ear, ''Hey..i have an idea..but you have to play along, ok?''

I hesitated then nodded slowly.

''Oh…so your going to play the hard way Dempsey? Then so be it…'' Richtofen spat and stepped closer.

Takeo stepped behind me and put me in a neck-lock.

I struggled in surprise and whimpered.

Dempsey spun around and stared at Takeo in surprise, ''What are you doing Takeo?!''

Takeo covered my mouth gently and whispered in my ear, ''Shh..Elena..it's ok..just trust me..''

I hesitated and then relaxed slightly.

''Takeo! Let her go!'' Dempsey said, glaring at Takeo.

Takeo walked backwards, dragging me with him, ''No Dempsey….'' He said looking at Richtofen, ''She's all yours doc…''

Richtofen looked at Takeo in surprise and nodded slowly, ''Bring her over here…''

Takeo hesitated and stepped back further, pulling me with him, ''What do I get in return?'' He said, giving Richtofen a stern stare.

''Takeo if you do no-'' Dempsey was interrupted by Richtofen.

''What do you want in return?'' Richtofen said, grinning slightly.

Takeo stayed silent for a moment then spoke up, ''You know what…I have a better Idea...'' He pulled out a pistol and aimed it at my head.

I stiffened and started whimpering again.

Dempsey gritted his teeth and stepped closer to Takeo and me, ''Takeo..let her go…''

Takeo held the gun firmly to my head and whispered gently in my ear, ''Hey..hey..calm down Elena…just please trust me…''

I calm down slightly and nodded slightly, while shivering.

Takeo looked back at Richtofen, ''I could kill her, right here, right now…''

Richtofen stared at Takeo in alarm, ''That wouldn't be very smart Tak…she's more useful when she's alive…''

Dempsey gave Takeo a stern stare, ''Let her go Takeo… don't want to have to hurt you..''

Takeo looked at Dempsey then back at Richtofen, ''What are you going to do to her?''

Richtofen looked slightly annoyed, ''I'm going to take the element out of her…''

''And what is that going to do to her?'' Takeo asked.

''Kill her'' Richtofen answered simply.

Takeo glared at him, ''That's not such a good idea…''

Emily grabbed Richtofen's hand, ''Rikky, why do you have to kill her? You know if you kill her you'll also kill me…'' She whined.

Richtofen grabbed her arm and threw her to the ground, ''Shut up! Do you think I care?!''

Emily stared up at him. Her lip started quivering and tears streamed down her cheeks, ''B-but..R-Rikky…''

''SHUT UP YOU USELESS BRAT!'' Richtofen yelled down at her.

Emily burst into tears and got up, running out of the room.

I watched her. I slightly felt bad for the young girl.

Dempsey stared at Takeo, ''For the last time Takeo, let. Her. Go.''

Takeo glared at him and put his finger on the trigger.

I stiffened and closed my eyes and started shaking. I heard footsteps behind me and opened my eyes again. I watched and Samantha walked up to me and Takeo.

''Hello Elena…'' She said kindly….
