1.15 Chapter 35~

I walked through the forest shaking. My arms felt ice cold and my legs felt like they were about to fall off. I had only been walking an hour since Takeo had left me to face myself. I continued through the forest, the clouds were still red in my eyes making everything in my surroundings shaded slightly red. I shivered and kept my pace slow. I didn't want to encounter, well, me again. She was just too creepy, and too think she/me killed Grace! I would never do that, I would die before I did such a thing. I walked through the trees slowly, jumping at every leave that blew in the swift breeze. I have never been this jumpy in my life.

''Elena…'' I heard Dempsey's voice behind me and spun around. Nothing. Nothing was behind me but the red forest and the soft breeze. I tightened my fist and closed my eyes. I was imagining things. Have I seriously gone crazy like Takeo had said. I was about to turn and walk away when I heard another voice call my name. Dempsey's voice.

I spun around again and looked around franticly. I knew I heard him that time. I walked around slowly, looking through the trees.

''Dempsey?...'' I saw movement at the corner of my eye and spun to face it, praying that it was Dempsey. But instead, no my surprise, Samantha stepped into view.

''Hello Elena, long time no see'' She said, slightly smiling.

I looked down, disappointed. Why did it have to be Samantha?

''Look Elena, I know you don't want to talk to me right now, but this is very important, just please hear me out?'' Samantha said, obviously noticing how disappointed I looked.

I looked up and nodded to her, ''Ok, what's so important?''

''Well, I know you've been meeting a girl that looks just like you, right? Well her name is Demon, she can transform into any body and deceive the person she looks like, she was infected with the element just like you were but she let it control her, soon enough she couldn't be controlled and the element changed her into a monster…'' Samantha explained, taking a big breath afterwards.

I stared at her, trying to take it all in. So this girl that looked like me was named Demon? I shivered at the thought of anyone being named that.

''Why does she hate me so much?'' I asked, trying to keep my voice from shaking.

''Your in her way, she wants to have power over every living thing on the planet and you're the only one standing in her way, and you're the only one that can kill her'' Samantha said.

''Why am I the only one that can kill her?'' I asked in slight confusion.

''Because you have the element in you also, element can only fight element…'' Samantha answered calmly.

I nodded slowly. I did make sense in a way. But that didn't explain why I was hearing Dempsey calling my name.

''Hey, Samantha, I heard Dempsey saying my name…'' I said looking her in the eye.

Samantha sighed and looked at me almost sternly, ''That's because he was, he's alive Elena..''

I felt myself fill up with shock and happiness. Either Samantha was lying or she really meant it. But how could he be alive? That school and tumbled on top of him and Richtofen. That's when it came to me, if Dempsey had escaped then Richtofen could have too.


''What?! He is?! Where is he?!'' I asked looking around.

''Elena all you need to know right now is that he's alive, nothing more can be answered at the moment'' Samantha said calmly.

I looked at her, ''How do I know your not lying?''

''Well, you did say you heard his voice didn't you?'' Samantha pointed out.

I nodded and continued to walk through the forest. I could hear Samantha following behind me.

''What are you doing?'' she asked.

''I'm going to find Demon and get this over with'' I mumbled and continued walking. I was to stop and look around when a black mist caught my eye. My instant thought was to run for it but I stood my ground. Then right in front of me Demon appeared with a grin on her face.

''I heard your missing someone, hmm I believe his name is…Dempsey? Oh yea that's right'' She said in a mocking tone.

I glared at her, ''What did you do to him?''

Demon laughed, ''I didn't do anything to him, yet…what I need at the moment is for you to come with me Elena, you'll see Dempsey again…''

I stood there for a moment, thinking. Then I nodded. I needed to make sure he was ok at least.

Demon smiled, ''Alrightie then, follow me…'' She ran through the trees.

I hesitated at first but then dashed after her, ignoring Samantha calling my name behind me. Demon seemed to way faster than any human could go. I could barely keep her in my sights. Finally she stopped and pointed ahead to a path way.

''Follow that path and you'll find him'' Demon said, disappearing into a black mist again.

I looked at the pathway and slightly shivered. Along the edges seemed to be a low to the ground fog. It was strange though because it was only foggy on the edges of the pathway but nowhere else. I took a deep breath and started walking down the path. Instantly I heard children laughing through the trees. I spun every direction to try and make out where the laughs were coming from but soon found out that they were on all my sides. Soon enough I gave up searching and walked straight and looking straight. The laughs were still taunting me. I heard someone yell my name and froze, listening. Nothing. I kept walking and then heard someone calling my name again. I stopped again and listened longer and harder.

''Elena?!'' the voice was right behind me. I turned around slowly and saw Dempsey standing there, his expression slightly confused. I felt joy dwell up inside me and ran up and hugged him. He laughed slightly and hugged back.

''I thought you were dead?!'' I said, still hugging.

Dempsey laughed, ''I can't die that easy…''

''I guess not!'' I said pulling away from him and looking up at him.

He smiled at me and looked around, ''You have any idea where we are?''

I looked down and then back up again, ''I have no idea…'' I wasn't about to tell him about Demon just yet. He would only worry.

I was about to keep walking as Demon appeared in a mist in front of us, ''Well it's nice to see you happy again Elena, but that happiness is going to fade..''

I glared at her, ''You sure about that?''

Dempsey stepped closer to me and stared at Demon in shock and anger.

''Yea I'm sure! Why wouldn't I be? I told you where Dempsey was, and know you have to repay me'' Demon snarled.

I stiffened. I was done with deals, I still hadn't told the one I had made with Sarah to anyone and now Demon was pestering me about repaying her.

Demon started explaining what she wanted for my repayment but my ears drowned out just moments after she started talking. All I saw was her lips move but I heard nothing. I couldn't hear a thing. But I could see hellhound slowly appearing from the fog behind Demon. Demon grinned and pet one of the dogs. I looked around and saw that hellhounds were surrounding us at all sides. I have encountered hellhounds before, but not this many. There was at least twelve dogs every way I turned. I've never seen so many.

''So do you get it Elena?'' Demon asked.

I looked her in the eye. Even though  I hadn't heard a word she said I knew what she wanted in repayment. I knew all to well…..
