1.15 Chapter 14~

I was holding my breath unable to move. The thought of dying in this room seemed way out of my lege at the moment.

''Their getting in!'' Nikolai shouted the obvious and I hated him for it. I didn't needed to be told twice. I groaned and pressed my hands into a fist. I knew I was going to have to use whatever it is I had but didn't want to at all. It would just end up killing me slowly anyway. I stepped in front of all the others and held my breath. The zombies were breaking in at an amazing speed.

''Elena don't you dare!'' I heard Takeo yell behind me, ''That'll take some of your life away!''

''You think I don't know that!'' I wanted to yell back but kept my voice down. Why was Takeo helping me? I barely knew him besides the fact that he dsaved me but that didn't count as actually officially meeting. I could tell he knew something I didn't but didn't bother to ask.

I heard a groan and snapped back into the real world. I could see their hands breaking in. My mind became dizzy as the first zombies stepped inside snarling. I held my hands to keep them back but was surprised to see a bright red beam strike out of them and zap the zombies like they were nothing. Even though I was shocked at this power I couldn't resist letting it out more.

''What's going on?!'' Dempsey asked from behind me. I didn't answer but I heard Takeo answer him pefectly.

More zombies made it through the door and I felt my hands react to them with out evern moving. It was like something was forcing them up and firing for me. It seems slightly awkward for red zapping beams to be coming out of my palms but I ignored the thought as I took out the first few zombies and was almost ready to collapse.

''Alright enough! Shoot them down!'' Dempsey yelled pulling me behind him as he and Nikolai started firing at every zombie that stepped in while I gasped for breath. I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked over. Takeo was smiling at me.

''You did a good job for your first time!'' He said giving me a slightly concerned look.

I gave him a slight glare. He knew too much.

''We need to get out of here!'' Nikolai yelled over the piercing gun shots. I nodded and scanned the room for any openings. Nothing but windows. That was it. We could jump right through the windows.

''The windows!'' I yelled, ''Jump right through them!''

''It's worth a shot but one problem….'' Dempsey said

''What?!'' I yelled over the firing.

''Nikolai might be to fat to fit through!'' Dempsey said a grin on his face and a laugh threatening to burst out at any moment.

''Shut up American!'' Nikolai smirked and was the first to give up his shooting and dive through the one of the windows. That proved Dempsey wrong. I was next. I stepped a step back and ran straight for the window next to the one Nikolai had dived through. I closed my eyes as I leaped and slammed into the glass. Instantly pain reached my arms but I ignored the pain. All I could feel was sudden cooler air meet my skin. It was almost shocking. I angled myself so I would land on my feet. Sure enough I did just skidding on the street slightly. I waited for Takeo and Dempsey to fly out. Sure enough they came out of the already broken windows at the same time and landing directly on their feet at the same time. It actually seemed like they had perfectly timed it. I was slightly surprised.

''Run!'' Takeo yelled bolting down the street. I followed trying to catch my breath as I followed. Nikolai pointed to a promising truck in front of us. Once we reached it Nikolai jumped in the driver's seat while Dempsey grabbed the passenger's seat. That forced me and Takeo in the back. Without hesitation I jumped in the back followed by Takeo who slammed the door closed behind him.

''Go!'' Dempsey yelled at Nikolai.

Nikolai slammed on the gas praying that the truck move. And oh did it. Its back wheels spun against the dirt for a few moments before taking off with no much force everyone was pressed in their seat. Nikolai released the gas slightly and relaxed in his seat.

''That was close, is anyone hurt?'' Dempsey said twisting to face me and Takeo. I shook my head no while Takeo nodded. I instantly turned my gaze to him suddenly feeling concerned. Takeo held up his arm to reveal a large piece of glass jabbed into it. I gagged at the sight of so much blood pouring down his arm but still offered to help.

''I'll take care of it'' I said grabbing a rag that was in the seat next to me and handing it to Takeo, ''Use this to pull the glass out, you have to do it quick''

Takeo nodded slowly and grasped the glass in his arm with the rag. I flinched as he ripped it out of his arm and biting his lip from screaming in pain. I quicky grabbed his arm and studied it carefuly.

''Ok it looks ok for now'' I said smiling, ''Just keep that rag pressed on it!''

''Ohhhh lovebirds back there!'' Nikolai mocked laughing. I gritted my teeth in rage. He was really getting on my nerves.

''Just keep driving Nik'' Dempsey said annoyance hovering in his voice.

''Are you jealous American?'' Nikolai mocked laughing. He seemed to be having fun with the concept of being jealous over me. I had no feelings for anyone here…..that I was aware of…

I felt the truck swaying from side to side gently as I just opened my eyes. I must have dosed off.

''Wakey waky'' I heard a mocking voice close to my ear and jumped back to see Takeo sitting there a smile on his face. I noticed then that my head was leaning on his shoulder. I blushed and looked down not wanting to make eye contact with anyone. It felt extremely awkward for that to happen. I looked out the window and noticed that we were in the middle of nowhere. I was about to jump up and ask either Dempsey or Nikolai but I stopped myself. I was in no mood for talking after what happened.

''Were almost there Tak, is she awake?'' Dempsey asked from the front not looking back.

''Ohh yea she's awake alright!'' Takeo responded laughing slightly. I wanted to go all rage mode on him but didn't want more eyes laid on me.

''oookkk then anyways were almost there'' Dempsey said.

I was confused and just had to ask, ''Where are we going?''

''Either to our certain deaths or our deaths…….'' Takeo said. I was even more confused but didn't want to know. I just stared ahead. I knew they were keeping something from me. What? I wasn't sure yet but I had a feeling it wasn't pretty….
